About Gromcamp >>

The Salomon Freeski Grom Camps are freestyle ski camps, held all over the country at indoor snow slopes and outdoor dry ski slopes. They are now known, not just for top notch coaching, but also as a community for the UK’s top young freestylers.

There is no age limit; the youngest camper so far was 5 and the oldest 60+. The camps are also for all standards of skiers, from 'never jumped before' to sponsored riders. We do require all campers to be able to ski down the slope in a controlled and safe manner but it is not necessary to have ever tried freestyle before. We also require all campers to wear a helmet (you can borrow one from the slope if you don’t have one).

We have different groups for different levels of skiers so as to make sure everyone gets the very best coaching from our professional skiers and we make it as much fun as possible. The camps are run by Pat Sharples, team manager for Salomon and Oakley, and he employs only the top name coaches in the industry including Andy Bennett, James Woods, Joe Tyler, James Webb and Becky Hammond. Check out 'Meet The Team' below for their profiles.

After each camp we show video highlights of the day and reward the campers with prizes for the most improved, hardest working and best tricks of the day. The sponsors always put in great prizes, including: t-shirts, caps, rucksacks, headphones, goggles and sometimes even ski equipment or computers!

The cost of each camp is £30 and this covers slope fees and coaching.

We look forward to skiing with you soon!

Woodsy is not only the UKs no1 Freeskier, he's now considered one of the best Freeskier's on the planet and is one of the most biggest names in British skiing!

Woodsy started skiing at Sheffield ski village and joined up with Pat Sharples to train at the Grom camps where he quickly became a coach and helped lead the way for other young british kids. He recently competed at the Winter Olympics in Sochi where he placed 5th even with a serious injury and has won 2 X Games medals at X Games and World cups including the Golden globe and overall world championships title.

Katie Summerhayes is the UKs no1 Slopestyle skier and is now considered one of the best in the World! She has proved this many times and recently became the World Junior slopestyle champion. Katie also represented Great Britain at the Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Games where she qualified for the finals in 3rd place and ended up a respectful 7th overall. She has also been on the podium at 2 World cup events over the last year and placed 4th in the World championship and X Games and she is still only 18 years old! There is nothing Katie loves more than skiing with her friends and working on new tricks and leading the way for the next generation of kids coming through the sport. I don't think you could ask for a better role model in our sport says Team GB head Freeski coach Pat Sharples. She skis and competes for all the right reasons and is constantly pushing the sport to the next level. She also does all of this with a big smile on her face and is always super approachable.

Rowan has proved that hard work and dedication pays off and after training with the British Freeski team full time for the last few years she finally had her breakout season the year and won her first World cup in Calgary Canada. She also made many top 10s in the World cups and Olympic qualifying events and eared her place on Team GB to represent the UK in Sochi. Not only did she qualify, she was a contender for the podium as she was taking in to the next level in training before the Olympics. Unfortunately due to a crash in training she was unable to compete, but she's now back in training and looking forward to passing her knowledge on to the next batch of pipe skiers. I predict Row will be dominating women's Halfpipe skiing for many years to come says Team GB head Freeski coach Pat Sharples. She's still one of the youngest girls on the World cup circuit and is hungry to be the best.
